Bakers furniture-Bakers furniture can be classified into three groups

Bakers furniture can be classified into three groups. First group furniture items are related to cake and bread making. Second group items are required by any businessman, e.g. showcase and display tables. Third group items belong to office furniture, e.g. pin up boards, tables, chairs. The furniture can also be classified on the basis of its material. Thus there are following categories: Metal Furniture, Wooden Furniture, and Polymer Furniture.

It is a coincidence that "Baker" is a trade name in furniture business. For this article however, the term "bakers furniture" is restricted to bakery business.

TRADITIONAL OVEN:

Basic equipment of bakery is the hot air oven. Why it is classified here as a furniture item? The reason is simple. Traditional Oven is nothing but a specialized cupboard. It is just put on stove or burner. Its construction is very similar to that of general metal furniture.

Hot Air Oven has number of shelves. The passage of hot air is maintained in a zigzag manner. This is done by keeping slits at appropriate places. The hot air flows upwards from the burner, and then it is turned towards left, then again upwards, then towards right and so on.

The walls of the oven are two layered having two metal sheets, which are separated by insulating material. Insulation blocks the flow of heat from inside to outside.

CAKE RACKS:

After baking is over, the cakes are kept in racks for cooling. The racks have multiple layers, which make maximum use of available space. Complete cooling is necessary for better application of icing. Otherwise heat present in cake melts the butter of icing. That is why racks are helpful in cooling the lot of cakes.

Cake Racks are of two types, open and closed. Open racks are useful in the cooling process, whereas closed racks are useful for storage of finished products.

SHOW CASES:

Showcases are the important items of baker\'s furniture. Display of cake decoration is possible by means of showcase. Other bakery items are also displayed through showcases. Heater is installed in the show case of hot products. Similarly refrigeration is applied inside the show case for the purpose of cold storage. If bakery has eatery joint, the showcase increases sales volume, as many customers take decision of purchase after looking at the attractive display. Fast food joint is a place, where customers can eat food stuffs quickly. Tall tables are useful here. On these tables, the customers can eat while standing.

SALES COUNTER:

The sales counter has display boards and cashier's furniture. The table has enough place for computer monitor, credit card acceptance machine and weighing balance. The drawer of cashier's table has inner sections and locking facility. Display board is useful for giving information about fresh products, festival offers and sales schemes.

OTHER FURNITURE ITEMS:

Baker's office needs basic items of office furniture. If the baker conducts training courses, then classroom furniture is required to cater the needs of trainee bakers.

SUMMARY:

Bakers furniture includes various items such as cupboard-oven, racks, modified tables and showcases. Other items are related to baker's sales counter, office and classroom. Storage racks with both hot and cold conditions are required.
